With the Chinese modernizing it’s military and pushing out into the East China Sea, asserting it’s dominance over nearby islands, and alienating most of it’s neighbors, there is a growing threat in the Far East. A threat that threatens to suck the US into a war. Already we have committed to the “Far East Pivot” in order to protect our interests and ally’s in the region. Any fight that sucks the US in against China would most surely prompt North Korea to provoke a fight with South Korean, automatically opening a second front to the theater of war… And a bloody fight that would last years.
In recent events Putin has begun to retake Ukraine in order to begin the construction of his “Eurasian Union”. Crimea fell without a fight, and Eastern Ukraine has voted as of today for “independence” which I can only assume will result in Putin pushing to annex the area, making it apart of Russia. And with no action coming from Kiev, NATO, the US, or the EU, Putin will surely push all the way to Moldova. There are already signs of “unrest” in Southern Ukraine. More concerning are members of NATO that have large numbers of ethnic Russian populations like Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. What happens when Russia begins to interfere in these countries… Will NATO go to war with Putin…
And in the Middle East where the US and NATO are winding down it’s war in Afghanistan, Islamic Extremism is stronger now than it ever was prior to 9/11. And it only bound to get worse with the war in Syria, the re-insurgency in Iraq, and the Taliban that is massing in large numbers in Pakistan waiting for the last NATO troops to withdrawal from the battlefields in Afghanistan. The Israeli/ Palestinian peace process is dead as of a few weeks ago. The governments in the Middle East are no longer Western backed, and the only thing that they can agree on is the destruction of the state of Israel.
With all of these hot spots across the globe, hotspots that are bound to ignite sooner rather than later, it seems impossible to avoid a conflict in the next 50 years.
So I thought because I have this third shift bouncing job on the weekends that I would just switch my entire schedule over to a third shift schedule…
Yeah two weeks into this and I’m about ready to loose my mind. I get about 5 hours of the beautiful summer sun, before I spend the rest of my day in the darkness of night. I waited all freakin winter to get some sun and long days… And I’m gonna get it damn it lol!! I think I’m gonna switch over after this weekend. Not entirely sure how I am going to go about it, but where there is a will there is a way. I’ve run out of shit to watch on TV, Netflix, and You Tube. I’ve worked out a ton, and cleaned my apartment from top to bottom… Twice. I’m bored out of my mind at the moment and this is how I get myself in trouble (which is already too often 😛 )!!
I do have to say though, I sure am getting a lot of shit done. Two weeks into my summer break and I’m already knocked out half of my rather long to do list. At least some progress has been made in some form and fashion!!
Well just got the last grade in my classes. I have the best grades I’ve ever since going to college and the best grades I’ve had since my sophomore year in high school.
I am very class that all the work paid off. I feel like I have stepped away from my family and my fraternity in order to devote time to these grades. It’s good to know that I am indeed headed in the right direction. This fulfills one of my goals so far for 2014, and it feels good to be making progress towards a much desired degree.
Finally took the time to seek out a good double barrel shotgun. I chose to invest in this Savage 16 gauge shotgun. It’s a tab bit smaller shell, but I like the quality and the cost for what ya get is a very good deal. I am looking forward to taking it out to the range and knocking a few clay pigeons out of the sky with it. Someday I will hopefully go hunting and can claim a duck or quail with this sucker.
I’ve been trying to figure out why Putin would go through so much trouble to ensure that Ukraine is under his control. I’m sure that ethic Russian’s can’t possibly be the right answer, he killed his own citizens within his own borders long before Crimea was in his sights.
I remember hearing about this thing called the “Eurasian Union” years ago and I started looking into it. Putin has rebuilt the Russian vision around this idea. If Putin had his way the Eurasian Union would be some sort of reconfiguration of the old Soviet Union built on a strong foundation of trade and economic practices. Something that would rival both the EU and the US, if done properly. Of course anything looks good on paper, but I think this vision will die with Putin within the next 15 years. The man is already 70 something years old, how long can he hope to live!
Ukraine would ensure the transportation of Russia’s energy resources to Europe, the drug that keeps it’s government eating out of Putins hand. A key part of Putins… And quite frankly Russians wealth. I think originally he didn’t intend for the Ukrainian people to push out Viktor Yanukovych. So now, because whatever he has planned for his “Eurasian Union” requires Ukraine under Russian control, he has been forced to resort to less discreet methods of cohesion. Lucky for Putin, neither the EU or the US seem to have much interest in stopping his invasion of Ukraine. I doubt if Ukraine had been a NATO member that Putin would be pulling the stunt he is right now in the country. He knows his country is in no shape to fight large scale war. Not yet any way…
Unfortunately for the rest of the world, Putin is no dummy. He lived in the old Soviet Union and knows the system was a bad one. Which is why the old empire didn’t last. He knows that a strong country is one that has a strong economy. And he has many obstacles to overcome before this is a reality. The first being a stead and sure income to fund all the projects it will take in order to get there. Ukraine is apart of that puzzle.
That’s how I see it anyhow… And he needs to be stopped now if we are to avoid his “Eurasian Union” from becoming a much bigger problem for the rest of the world 50 years down the road.
